Japanese Gardens

a guided boat dive to around 30m along a wall of corals which can be pre-booked through Manta Dive Club - number of divers is limited.

Visibility is usually great, and currents are southerly.

·  Location: Access by dive boat only, via Manta Dive Club.

·  Parking for private vehicles: Manta Dive Club parking lot or at the Marina from whence the boat departs.

·  Disabled access: Yes.

·  Entry point: Anchor buoy inside the Nature Reserve north of the Underwater Observatory.

·  About the dive: This is a guided boat dive to around 30m along a wall of corals which can be pre-booked through Manta Dive Club - number of divers is limited.
Visibility is usually great, and currents are southerly.

·  Dive Plan: Descent on the buoy-rope to 15m, then continue descending with the seafloor in an easterly direction to 25-30m along a coral cliff that reaches 50m.
From here, continue either south or north until reaching half tank pressure at which point turn back and ascend to 15-20m where the buoy's anchor-stone is very obvious.
The safety stop can be made on the rope of the buoy to which the dive boat is tied, facilitating an easy end to the dive.

·  Marine inhabitants: Many species of spectacularly-coloured hard and soft coral cover the well-preserved wall.
Various species of Moray Eel, giant clams, and schools of reef fish are resident along the wall and its large coral formations, and open-sea marine life is often seen passing by.

·  Safety Warning: This route can only be dived from the designated entry and exit buoys.
The area is frequented by glass-bottom and other boats.
Diving at a depth of less than 5m is prohibited!
